Uh huh yeah.

25 February 1982 (it's late, why am I awake?)

Private )

Congratulations to Gryffindor for winning their Quidditch match against Hufflepuff! The first in... well, it's been awhile. Keep up the good work.

No one ever told me the MLE was so... exciting. Can MLEP officers arrest themselves? I've been paying way too much attention to the training of course, all of us have. We're all good trainees. Also it's a little awkward since it involved Amanda's older sister. Why should I care anyway?

Tomorrow (today?) is a Friday. Do we have any plans, Gilly? This weekend isn't your non-surprise baby shower, is it?

21 July 1981 (Very, very early. Why am I still awake?)

Tonight was Alex's stag party. Wow. I hope Alex dries out quickly, otherwise he's going to go to the altar smelling like a distillery.

I didn't hear about Tressa and Mrs McKinnon until I got home about half an hour ago.

Christmas was a full affair at the Bones house. Ed and Anne's children, it turns out, will sit down and shut up if you put anything football on the telly (even if it's not Aston Villa, but they're young yet). Francis and El's kids got sick, which was kind of a bummer, but everyone was in attendence for last Sunday dinner, so it's not like we went the entire break without seeing them. (Well, really, just me, since I'm the only one left in school.) Alex and Jo got engagd which was somewhat unexpected. I guess they're one step closer, we'll see what happens to freak her the fuck out this time. Oh, and Amelia forgot her husband at home. All in all, quite typical.

We even got Ed to come play football, I forgot how good he was. He will strike circles around you before you can say "Holy fuck, what's a bureaucrat know about footie?"

Francis got me a leather jacket for Christmas. I've been breaking it in, it's pretty great. Of course, mum thinks this is one step down in my descent into hooliganism (apparently I act like a football hooligan? What? Only at Man U, Palmer knows this for a fact!) but hasn't forbidden me to leave the house in it. So I think I will continue to do so. Besides, I don't think the Auror Corps takes hooligans. Of course, though

Everyone I didn't get gifts sent to, sorry, I think I nearly killed the owl sending it to Hogwarts with all the Christmas biscuits that mum said to send to Palmer and Eric and everyone there. But I have them, I'll give them to you at school, or if I know I'm going to see you before then.

It's been busy.

Good show last week, Gryffindor Quidditch. It was an exciting match, nothing to be ashamed of there.

You lose things when your area of the room hasn't been cleaned since September, just so you know. Like homework. And your journal.

Maddie, are we still dueling in our free period?

7 July 1980

It took my mother exactly five days to put me to work. I'd noticed this when Alex became of age, actually, too. I somehow doubt that she had the opportunity to do it with Francis, but maybe with Edgar (but maybe not, Mr. I Was The British Youth Representative to the Wizengamot [nice going Brion, by the way] since that took up some time). Amelia too? Cheap labour with of age but not yet out of school magical kids.

Hurrah for being bossed around the house by your mum. I found it hard to believe that Angela Bones, My Mum, did not dust the very top shelf of the bookcase, but... she doesn't. Or didn't. She's got the stork living back at home again and she doesn't put that height to use. I am shocked. And very dusty.

I'm going to go play some football now.

So.

I guess the lesson of that is if you duel Maddie Frobisher and let her win... she will.

Since most of Hufflepuff seems to be over

Yeah. Hols. I can't wait to get home. I really, really can't.
